This class will be a deep dive into all things gel plate! Gel plates are extremely versatile and reusable printmaking substrates that can be used without the need for a press and are compatible with a variety of art mediums. You will learn how to make your own homemade gel plates & also use manufactured ones to explore a variety of fun experiments and applications. We will delve into printed and drawn image transfer, creating textural layers for collage applications, and making monoprints with handmade stencils, organic materials, found objects, etc., using a variety of different media. You will also learn best practices for cleaning, storage, and care of your plates.

There will be a class materials kit for this class, which will include a manufactured gel plate that you will take home, materials for the additional plate that you make in class, and acrylic sheets for plate storage. REGISTER HERE!
